Your own boat to Icacos

About this experience

This is a private charter for your group only, up to six people. You meet at Sunbay Marina in Fajardo: tell the guard at the gate you're there for the charter, then find the wooden gazebo near the office. The trip lasts four hours.

You choose the island on the day. Icacos is the big empty beach; Palominos, per Caribbean Journal, is a private island used by El Conquistador resort guests. The listing includes guided snorkeling with gear, beer, rum and soft drinks, sandwiches, snacks and fruit, plus towels and sunblock.

Because the boat is yours, the crowd question goes away, which matters on weekends when party boats fill the anchorage at Icacos. The listing says it isn't suitable during pregnancy or for people with mobility impairments. Compare it with the water taxi if you want more time ashore than four hours allow.
